talking shop: 5 questions with jasmine kim…

…Talking Shop is a new addition to the blog featuring mini interviews with boutique owners, buyers, designers, friends – all people who are tastemakers and will share the inside scoop on where they like to shop!

So tell me…have you ever met someone who always looks head to toe amazing and can pull off trends that most people would be scared of? I have and her name is Jasmine Kim! She is the Sales Manager for Fashion Boutiques at luxury eyewear brand, Oliver Peoples. Her style is off the charts whether she’s rocking The Row with stilettos or keeping it casual in Thom Browne sweat pants and sneakers. This girl knows what’s up when it comes to fashion and we want the inside scoop on where she is shopping…

Tell us your favorite boutique in Los Angeles…

jk: My favorite boutique in Los Angeles is a tie between Maxfield and Satine. Maxfield, because its the most cutting edge retailer in terms of high fashion. Maxfield has always been at the forefront of educating consumers on new fashions and labels. I love Satine’s diverse selection of progressive yet wearable pieces. They have a great in house label too.

Outside of Los Angeles, what is your favorite city to shop and what boutique do you frequent?

jk: I’d have to say my favorite boutique outside of Los Angeles is Five Story Boutique in Manhattan. This new boutique has given me a reason to make the trip to the Upper East Side every time I’m in the city.

When it comes to online shopping, what are your go to sites?

jk: I am always on Net-a-Porter.com, LN-CC.com, MyTheresa.com, and Shopbop.com. Online shopping is a problem for me!

After a long day of shopping, where do you like to grab a bite?

jk: I love Robata Jinya on 3rd for ramen and tapas. Soda Pop on La Cienega is another favorite for sandwiches and wraps. BCD for Korean tofu soup always hits the spot too!
