To start this chilly week off right AND just incase you missed our latest feature on The Fashion Spot, we wanted to make sure you had a chance to shop one of our favorite tea shops!
If you live on the east coast, right about now you are getting hit hard with single digit temps, snow, wind — all things this California girl just has no idea how to handle! I was there two weeks ago and experienced the Polar Vortex first hand. The only way to stay warm was taking refuge in the Chanel shop at Bergdorf Goodman (last week’s post) and drinking lots of tea. Oh, but not just any tea, a very special cinnamon spice tea that I live for and always buy from one of my favorite shops in NYC.
Welcome to Harney & Sons Tea shop, located on Broome Street in the heart of Soho. I found this shop a year or so ago and it has become a frequent stop anytime I am in the big apple. I gave up coffee over three years ago, so I was thrilled to find Harney & Sons, where I not only could taste before buying, but I could actually learn the right way to make a perfect cup of tea. The Soho store boasts a beautiful tasting bar which houses over 250 tea varieties. And it’s loose tea, so you get to see it and smell it before sampling – one of my favorite parts!
Along with the tasting bar, Harney & Sons carries all of their amazing teas in a variety of options from loose tea to sachets to tea bags. And if you head to the back of the shop, they have their own tea lounge (open 7 days a week), so you can pop in for a quick cup.
So stop in Harney & Sons not only to warm up, but to splurge on some treats for your taste buds. Try the Hot Cinnamon Spice tea – it is my absolute fave. And if you don’t live in NYC, shop their website to find a complete assortment, along with exotic blends, and specialty products. And if you DO live in NYC and prefer to shop online from your warm, cozy couch, no judgment here – we don’t blame you!
