r.i.p. arcade boutique on melrose…

…where have I been in the last two weeks?!?  Okay well I did get engaged, but seriously!!! I can’t believe Arcade on Melrose closed! I was driving home yesterday evening from another store closing/goodbye party (what is happening!) and as I made my way home towards Melrose place, I made sure to check out the window at Arcade as I do every time I drive by and I saw THIS………..

so sad

I am so sad to see Arcade is gone! It officially closed it’s doors May 31st and Rochelle Gores (via WWD) has moved on to work with her dad, Alec Gores, at The Gore Group. ”I’ve really enjoyed creating and running Arcade. The success has exceeded my highest expectations. It has been great between the celebrities, the customers and all the press, but I’ve had the chance to work with my father and the talented people of The Gores Group and it was way too much of an exciting thing to pass up.” Naked mannequins, boxes, and a few chairs are all that is left in the space and the website is now blank.
