living the louis vuitton life…

…have you ever wondered what it was like growing up in the Vuitton family? Considering I am obsessed with vintage LV trunks and also have enjoyed numerous hours of family time over the last few weeks, I thought it was only appropriate to kick off my first 2012 post with a look inside one of the most noteable families in fashion. I came across this video and knew it was something amazing that I had to share with you!

Thanks to the people at Louis Vuitton, we can now take a sneak peek into the family home – usually reserved only for very special guests. Based in Asnières (about 25 mins from Paris), this magnificent property housed the namesake designer and his family from 1880 to the late 1960’s. Alongside the home is also an amazing sight – the first and now historical LV workshop. This workshop is still up and running yet is reserved for only “rare and exceptional” pieces as well as special orders. Check it out…

And to add to the visual excitement, I found these images from photographer Todd Selby of both the house and the workshop….

So now when you walk by the Louis Vuitton boutique and see those amazing trunks in the window – the one of a kind, my heart hurts because I love it so much trunks – you can think of this video and Mr. Louis Vuitton who brought this whole brand to life.
