…all my friends know, I am not an early bird. But when Oscar de la Renta calls and invites you to their Spring 2013 wedding preview, you get up early and you go! I am still on the hunt for “the” dress, so this could not have come at a more perfect time…
On Saturday, one of my best friends drove up to LA and we walked down to the Oscar de la Renta boutique on Melrose Place. As I have written about it before, this boutique is magical as it whisks you away into it’s beautiful interior. It was 10am and as we were the first appointment of the day, it was as if we had the entire store to ourselves! As we walked in, we encountered the Spring 13 trunk show gowns and it was like a hush came over the room – gorgeous, breath taking, it hurt my heart how beautiful they were! In addition to the dresses, the center table sparkled with every accessory you could imagine (along with a plate of the most ridiculously amazing macaroons!). Needless to say, this boutique is a bride’s dream…
With the wedding dress search party out in full force, we decided to walk over to Vera Wang (which is barely a block away) and see what gems she had in her atelier. I had never been in this boutique before, so I was beyond excited to check it out for the first time. This location houses her ready to wear collection, accessories, and shoes, along with her infamous bridal gowns. The ambiance and decor of the store is definitely modern luxury - white walls, dark floors, plush couches, wood tables – it is truly as gorgeous as each and every wedding dress in the collection. This is what I would call a candy shop for brides…
I will admit, I could shop for wedding dresses every day of the week!! At this point, there are two dresses I’m in love with. I have a couple more boutiques to check out (just to be 100% sure), and then it will be time to choose ”the” one. I will let you know when I finally say yes to the dress!
