talking shop: 5 questions with suzi grgurich…

…Talking Shop is a new addition to the blog featuring mini interviews with boutique owners, buyers, designers, friends - all people who are tastemakers and will share the inside scoop on where they like to shop!

Suzi Grgurich is a wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles and has been styling for over 6 years now. She has handled the wardrobes of many young Hollywood scarlets (and gentlemen too!), fashion editorial spreads, commercials, along with a ton of other amazing projects. Her job is to know the ins and outs of shopping in whatever city she may be working in. Here she lets us in on her secrets!

Tell us your favorite boutique in Los Angeles: Confederacy and Guild. It’s a toss up, but both stores carry amazing pieces that are hard to find. I love Guild, as it is small and feels like home on Abbot Kinney.

Outside of Los Angeles, what is your favorite city to shop and what boutique do you frequent? I love to shop in San Francisco. They have amazing boutiques in different areas of town that are very neighborly. I absolutely love the shopping in the Pacific Heights area, and my favorite store is Jeremy’s Department Store just outside of the financial district in South Park. It is very different then anything that I have seen before. It’s absolute hunting for amazing finds.

For amazing vintage pieces, what are your go to shops? I love so many different ones in Los Angeles…Some Odd Rubies and Shareen Vintage near downtown are always a go to. I still love Jet Rag especially on Sunday’s when their parking lot is a free for all!

After a long day of shopping, where do you like to grab a bite? Anywhere with you! haha. (Aww thanks Suz!) I do so much shopping on the West-side of Los Angeles, and there is nothing like a great cocktail at Casa Del Mar hotel overlooking the ocean and watching the sunset.

As a stylist, what has been one of your favorite projects to work on? I would say that I just have had the great experience of working with Mary Kay and People Style Watch for a year long project. It has been really cool to work with their global make-up artist and team to project trends in fashion and make-up!
