With guests wrapped around the building, H&M was ready promptly at 7pm to start letting anxious shoppers into the store. Needless to say, by 7:10pm, the store looked like an Isabel Marant feeding frenzy. Boxes of shoes were opened and thrown about, sweatshirts were disappearing in a blink, shopping bags were stuffed and overflowing on to the floor and the H&M staff could barely replenish the racks without getting mobbed. It didn’t matter if you were a celeb, super model, or infamous blogger (they all were there) – it was survival of the fittest. But what do you expect? This is Isabel Marant!!!

Just a little note to consider, the pants run small, the sweatshirts run even smaller, and the sweaters and tee’s run pretty true to size. Good luck!

This book is the first of its kind for François as it is a compilation of his own photography and has been 10 years in the making (since he bought his private island, Motu Tané, in 2000). Staying focused on beauty, the subject is no longer cosmetics, but the enchanting French Polynesian Island and those who make it magical.  Truth be told, the 288 page coffee table read is a celebration of the inspiration behind many of the NARS products.

Since I recently spent 10 days in Bora Bora on my honeymoon, there was no doubt I had to have a copy of this book in my library. In talking with François about the islands, it brought me back to the memory of the day we arrived in Tahiti – I was wearing NARS lip lacquer (in Chelsea Girls) of course!

I once was told (probably by my dad!) that some of the best things in life come in small packages. Now I know you are probably thinking presents and gift boxes, but I’m referring to L’AGENCE, the latest boutique to set up shop on Melrose Place.

If you’re not familiar with L’AGENCE, then let me introduce you to the new love of your life! Founded by Margaret Maldonado in 2008, the brand launched exclusively at Barneys and has since then grown a very strong following. (I bought my first top at Aris and have been addicted ever since!) This 500-square-foot retail boutique is its first in the U.S. and even though it may seem petite in size, I can assure you, it is packed with a very chic punch!

Boasting blonde wood flooring and soaring white-washed walls, the beautiful chrome fixtures play host to both the L’AGENCE and LA’t collections, including ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags and jewelry. White French doors open to a private courtyard garden, giving the store that special je ne sais quoi!

Referring back to those presents and gift boxes we were talking about earlier, I’m sure you’ve also heard the saying, “It’s the gift that keeps on giving”? Yeah, well that would apply here too! Stop in the new L’AGENCE boutique and see why this shop is on my list of  favorites — just don’t be mad at me when everything fits perfectly, looks amazing and you can’t leave empty handed!

I love jewelry…I mean, what girl doesn’t, right?!? Sparkling gems, precious metals, jewel tones – it all makes the heart beat fast. So enter in my latest boutique obsession, Roseark — gallery meets retail haven stocked full of the most coveted (and perfectly curated, might I add) jewelry and art. Kathy Rose, co-founder and designer of the store’s namesake collection, gave me a peek inside her passion for all things beautiful.

Roseark is an enchanting bungalow bringing a calming nature to an otherwise busy West Hollywood street. Hidden behind tall, overgrown greens, there is an allure about this unique, appointment-only shop that captivates as you wait to be buzzed in. Opened in May 2008, Roseark was created by Kathy (formerly from Sunset boutique Kaviar & Kind and winner of Bravo’s Launch My Line series) and her partner, Rick Rose, who hand pick each designer/artist in the store.

With 5,000 sq. ft. to work with, Roseark is made up of five rooms showcasing fine art from the likes of Matthew Heller and Jill Platner, jewelry from a multitude of designers including Karma El-Khalil (featured above), clothing, handbags, the famous Earth shoes (worn by Kate Moss) and so much more. Literally, I circled the shop about five times, completely mesmerized. (Annnd somehow I kept coming back to a stunning Janna Conner white topaz ring – it hurt my heart it was so gorgeous!)

My favorite part – Roseark will curate your personal jewelry box! Bring in your jewels to be reset into a necklace, earrings into a bracelet; whatever it may be, Kathy will turn your heirlooms into “wearlooms.” She is truly a jewelry genius!

Taking over the old Leggiadro space, this is the perfect tree lined location for The Row joining designer boutiques like Isabel Marant, Oscar de la Renta, Chloe, Marni, Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier, and Kiki de Montparnasse.

Now we will just call these the ”BEFORE” pics as I am sure there is major renovations planned. Stay tuned for opening dates, construction updates, and of course, the “AFTER” pics!
