…it’s not everyday that our favorite boutique gets their own TV show on Bravo! Be sure to check out Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos, owners of luxury vintage boutique Decades, at 10:30pm tonight where you can watch their retail reality adventures! …I love holiday weekends, who doesn’t right? Leaving work on Friday is that much sweeter knowing you have an extra day to play, go out, relax, travel, explore, cook, see friends…all those good things! Then we wake up (today) and reality hits – back to the grind! Well, thankfully this week is short and I have a couple fun events that will help make it fly by…

Okay, you know how much I LOOOOVE Aris on the Coast, so you can imagine my excitement on this one! This sale is HUGE and starts tomorrow. I literally want everything in this store, so I know the goods are going to be soooo good! The event ends Saturday, so stop in and treat yourself to a lil something gorg!

A lot of my friends are in Vegas this week and what better way to take a break from the craziness than with a trunk show at Beckley Boutique in the gorgeous Cosmopolitan Hotel! Meet designer Samantha Wills and indulge in beautiful jewels from her latest collection!

Since we are in major wedding mode (officially 3 months to the day yesterday!), I had to include this registry party at Crate&Barrel for any brides that are just starting out. beyoncé at the super bowl: we obviously have to talk about it…

…hope you all had a great weekend! We are just coming back to life after battling the flu last week – not fun, not fun at all. But, the weekend was great to rest up, do some wedding planning, and of course, watch the super bowl! And whether you were in it for the football or to watch Beyoncé rock the half time show, one thing is for sure – we HAVE to talk about that outfit!!

New York designer, Rubin Singer, is the genius behind this black on black on black with a side of lace and leather masterpiece! As this is not the first time they have worked together, Beyoncé called on Singer to make not only her costume, but the outfits for all 120 backup dancers and Michelle Williams. Composed of a lot of black leather and lace, this show stopping number also included strips of python and iguana. It was all about the warrior girl and Beyoncé definitely came out to killed it!

juice it up: new year’s resolution #4…

…okay, I like eating veggies, but do I get enough everyday?? Uhhh…that would be a no! I have been to Pressed Juicery and tried the different greens, roots, and citrus – and to my surprise, I really liked it! So in an attempt to consume more vitamins and minerals on a daily basis, I’m ready to try making juice at home. My #4 New Year’s resolution is to jump on the juice train and add more greens to my life! For anyone else joining me, here are some basics…

So where do we begin? First we need to SHOP for a juicing machine! I am a huge fan of William Sonoma for all my kitchen needs. A home blender is not recommended (from what I have read), even thought I feel like you could make it work if you wanted to. But if you want to do it right, it’s best to invest in a juicer. There are plenty out there depending on if you want a high speed or low speed machine. (The difference is explained here.) To make it easy, here are three to choose from depending on your juice intentions…

Once you are ready to get your juice on, here are some recipes you can try! Since this is not a strawberry and banana smoothie we are making here, I think it is going to be very trial an error depending on your taste buds. The girls over at A Beautiful Mess blog put together these 6 recipes along with a Green Apple +Spinach smoothie (below) that looks really good! William Sonoma also created this 30 days of juicing plan with additional recipes, and tips for getting started.

indulge in a good book: new year’s resolution #3…

…do you like to read? I love to read, but I never seem to have the time…or should I say make the time! I had this exact new year’s resolution last year and sadly, I only read one book – yes, I am admitting it! And I only started that book because my laptop died on a flight to NYC and I couldn’t sit there for 5 hours! So this year, I am going to make the same resolution, but with the intentions to read more than one! Here is my own little book boutique consisting of a few I highly recommend, one I am currently reading and a few others I plan on making time for…

1. Style Me Pretty Weddings: Inspiration and Ideas for an Unforgettable Celebration by Abby Larson …I am obsessed with this site with my upcoming wedding, so I am dying to read this!

2. The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook by Deb Perelman …love this blog and love to cook, so I need to read and test out!

3. Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back by Todd Burpo …this is the one book I read last year and it was absolutely incredible. I would read it again and again – highly recommend!

4. The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg …this book just sounds so interesting!

5. Blog, Inc.: Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community by Joy Deangdeelert …just finished and loved it. Recommend to anyone who is currently blogging or thinking about joining the community!

6. Grace: A Memoir by Grace Cottington …this is what I am reading right now. Love Grace – loving the book!

7. Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly by Anthony Bourdain …I know this is an older book, but I have always wanted to read it!

8. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald …a classic I want to revisit!

9. Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese …everyone keeps telling me about this book, so it’s gotta go on the list!

If you have any other suggestions, I would LOVE to hear!

…okay, we’re doing it – lets talk about our New Year’s resolutions! I love making them, but I will be the first to admit, I don’t always keep them. So I thought if we SHOP for our resolutions, that might help us stay on track! This week, I am going to share my 5 New Year’s resolutions – not only so you can hold me to them, but maybe I can help you with yours. We can do this together!! So day 1 – time to get in shape…

I want to start working out not only because I want to live a healthier lifestyle, but I also have my wedding coming up in May. My resolution is not only to get wedding ready, but to continue my exercise routine AFTER the big day. So to kick my booty into gear, I thought I needed some new workout clothes to get excited to feel the pain! (Yes I am totally trying to trick my brain!) No matter what your budget, there is a ton of great options out there. Here are a few of my favorite pieces…

the countdown is on: four days until the target neiman marcus holiday collection launches…

…ok, we have four days until we get to shop the most anticipated (and possibly the biggest) collabo Target has ever done! As we first mentioned back in July, this Saturday, December 1st, Target and Neiman Marcus will unveil the holiday collection they have curated with all 24 CFDA designers!! I can oniy imagine how crazy this is going to get, so we must be prepared. I have two suggestions for you…

it’s almost here

First suggestion…know where you are going! This collabo is going to be available in both Target and Neiman Marcus locations, so pick your destination and get ready to get their early. For Target store info, click here and for Neimans store info, click here. And don’t forget, you can start shopping online at midnight, so get that credit card ready! More than likely the site will crash, but it is definitely worth a try…

Second suggestion…know what you want to buy! There is going to be people running and elbows flying and shoppers that might not be of the polite kind, so to ensure you get what you want and still act civilized, know what you are looking for!
