One of my closest friends had a get together in Venice and, as we don’t get out there as often as I would like (even though weho is so not far), I love walking Abbot Kinney and checking out the great mix of stores. Satine, one of our neighborhood faves, just opened up their second location and omg we are in love…

This new to Venice shop has the same vibe as the 3rd street sister boutique -  girly chic with great fixtures, tables, and little sitting areas. AND the wallpapered dressing rooms seriously make us melt! The collection of designers is similar too with a perfect mix of A.L.C, Kimberly Ovitz, Erdem, Preen, Alexander Wang, Steven Alan, the namesake Satine label, and sooo many more. (Insider tip: Satine always has the best selection of Isabel Marant!) And as this is more of their beachy outpost, if you’re in need of any summertime essentials, Satine has a very enticing selection of Super sunnies and We Are Handsome bikini’s…

The beach, the surf, the sand and even better… an amazing boutique in Venice called Guild.

I found this store recently when I was doing some shopping on Abbot Kinney and I instantly fell in love. Guild is like a gallery only instead of hanging art, they feature beautiful designers you would never usually find at the beach. It almost seems like an oxymoron if you will, yet it is totally genius.

Christopher Rosen, who opened Guild almost 2 years ago, has an incredible eye for fashion stocking favorites for men and women like Rick Owens DRK SHDW, Ann Demeulemeester, Haider Ackerman, Margiela, and Raif…just to name a few. He also carries amazing jewelry designers that you don’t find all that often like Tobias Wistisen, Vanessa Dee (love), and Geoffrey Young. And I cannot forget to mention the Jas M.B. handbags – I have a serious obsession with the Meli Medium in Red (s/s12).

When in Venice, make sure to stop in Guild to tempt your taste buds. You will not be disappointed as this “gallery” is unlike the rest – feel free to touch anything you like. Oh…and we will!

But sometimes it is the presentation of the meal (or sweets) that is my favorite part – beautiful big platters, Italian stoneware, sterling silver, or my personal favorite – an amazing cake plate. I will admit, my dishware obsession is probably equally as dangerous as my obsession with shoes.

Enter Bountiful – a breathtaking home store (with a vintage vibe) in Venice that is the home to the cake plate. Sounds funny right, well it is absolutely true. This place is full of cake plates! It is a dream come true for a girl like me and did I mention the color options…

Once you come out of your cake plate haze (it took me a good 20 mins and probably 10 circles around the store), you will see there are also other great must haves including beautiful vintage linens and unique glassware…

So if you’re hosting a little get together or just want to freshen up some of your serving pieces, stop in Bountiful and you will definitely find something perfect for you. And remember – you can always use a cake plate in your bedroom as a perfume tray or a gorgeous piece of stemware on your bathroom countertop to hold jewelry. The options are endless…or maybe we should say bountiful.

After a quick bite at Gjelina Take Away (highly recommend), I made my way down to Heist, one of my favorite boutiques in Venice. I love this store for a number of reasons…the designers they stock, the open airy yet cozy feel of the store, and the sales personnel – very helpful, but not overly helpful if you know what I mean. It’s definitely a spot you MUST check out on your next Venice shopping trip.
