With an open and airy vibe, the clean lines of this shop make it quite easy to indulge in a little eye candy! Here you will find both the sunglass and optical collections from the luxury brand along with an assortment of styles from French designers Anne et Valentin and Thierry Lasry. With custom colored plastics and beautifully tinted lens, it’s hard NOT to find a pair (or two!) to fall in love with. The Little Bird is every girls’ dream! Filled with all our favorite names from Chanel, Celine, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Rick Owens, YSL, Christian Louboutin, The Row, and soooo many more, this boutique is all about accessible luxury! With over 1,200 consigners around the world, there are new pieces arriving everyday along with plenty of customers coming in to shop right after touching ground on the runway. I mean, after all the amazing things I found (featured below), I would come shop straight from the airport too!

My favorite part – they keep a “wish list” of anything you might be looking for! Croc Celine? Put her on the list….

The Omnibus Gallery is a cozy shop that houses original vintage posters dating from the late 1800’s to 1939. Nothing is reproduced and each piece has a story.

I met George, the gallery owner, who was quite the comedian and kept me purely entertained. He has owned this gallery for years and as we started talking, he told me amazing stories about living in Aspen and collecting posters. He is definitely part of the shopping experience!

I had two particular favorites in the store…both were extremely large in size and also a bit out of my shopping budget…

french obession

This poster caught my attention immediately when I walked in. Not only do I love vintage, but make it a French poster and the want turns into need! It is 35.5 x 82.5 poster printed for a French bicycle company in 1894. This pretty baby will set you back a mere $18,900.

very thomas crown affair

Perfect for a blank wall in any living room or hallway, my second favorite is this 50×36, masculine vintage poster. I love the oversized, exaggerated shoulders with the top hat and cane. PKZ is the most famous men’s clothing store in Switzerland and has been for the last 100 years. This poster was printed in 1934 and will ring up at $46,400…I recommend viewing this one at a bit of a distance.

From clothing, to travel, to music – you name it and there is a poster here for you. Stop in and see George when you are on East Cooper and he’ll help you fill that empty space on your wall.

Distractions is a small boutique on East Hopkins Ave, but let me tell you, it is packed with a big punch. Featuring collections from Balenciaga, Lanvin, Rag and Bone, The Row, VBH, Libertine, Elder Statesman, Golden Goose, Rozae, and many more – you will not only be blown away by the beautifully selected pieces, but the customer service in the store is amazing.

Heidi Semrau is an Aspen local who opened both Distractions and a sister store Imelda’s. This store is now a combo of both! When shopping in her store, she wants you to “be distracted” and I can admit, I definitley was. My biggest distraction – Golden Goose boots – to die for.

After looking through everything on each and every display (and becoming bestie’s with the girl working there), I found myself a beautiful gold patterned bangle bracelet – perfect addition to the collection I was currently featuring on my left wrist. I love when I find little shops that are off the beaten (cobblestone) path. Check it out if you love unique, vintage pieces.

living like a local...arriving at the farmers market bright and early

I know this isn’t a typical “boutique,” but it does involve shopping and this is a MUST do when you are here for the weekend. Local farmers from neighboring towns set up shop with produce offerings that are almost too beautiful to eat.  Everything is Colorado made, grown and/or produced from as far as Grand Junction. In addition, there are art dealers, jewelry designers, the goat cheese booth (yes it’s amazing!), local wineries, and last but not least, the flowers – if I lived here, I would buy flowers from this lady every weekend.

Head over to East Hopkins between Hunter and Galena on any Saturday from 8am to 3pm between June and October. Within minutes, you will feel right at home and forget you are just visiting.

With stacks of antique Louis Vuitton trunks in the window (it prompted my previous hello lover post), Daniels Antiques immediately became the next must stop shop on my Aspen list. It is a small store and has been in business something like 16 years. After taking a look around, I could see why – they have quite a selection and everything is in mint condition. Along with the LV trunks, there were antique telescopes, leather chairs, lights, tables, binoculars, clocks, paintings…but my second personal fav to the trunks – a gorgeous chess set that would look perfect next to a roaring fire place…quintessential Aspen.

Possibly the easiest flight ever from LAX (minus the gut wrenching turbulent landing), I arrived in this quaint little mountain town and was ready to experience summer – Aspen style. As my past memories involved Boogies Diner and the Ultimate taxi – this time around, I wanted to check out every little shop and put together a perfect list of the absolute must stop shops while in town.

So after dropping off my bags and having a quick chat with the two cute local girls at the concierge desk – I left the Hotel Jerome on foot to check out what kind of damage I could do. After much editing…here is where it’s at…

MAX …hands down my favorite fashion boutique in Aspen. If you are looking for all of our favorites – Rick Owens, Yves Saint Laurent, Balmain, Missoni, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Ann Demeulemeester, Celine, Isabel Marant, Lanvin, Dries, Helmut Lang – well you’re in the right place. As I arrived, I met the infamous and fabulous Max, who was more delightful than I imagined. Fall pieces had just started arriving and that was a problem.

After a whirlwind of dresses, jackets, and a peruse through the beautiful jewelry, I had to bid Max adieu and head to my next store…but not before he asked where I was from, what I was doing in town, where I would be eating dinner (Cache Cache which was amaze) and that he would see me there. Did I mention how friendly everyone is here? Love him – love this town.
